I was hoping that today I'd finish the website project I'm doing for my new client - but stuff keeps getting in the way.
Yesterday's distraction included a call from the school nurse to inform me that my daughter had a mishap during science lab. She's fine, but has a sore spot on her chin where her face made contact with the chemicals they were using.
That was actually kind of refreshing, as for the last several weeks, most of the issues I've had to deal with are related to the dog.
We began a two-month course of training on Saturday. The first session was for owners only, as the trainer laid out his philosophy and what was expected of US. My main takeaway from that is that he wants us to work with our dogs for 40 minutes a day.
Nobody has that kind of time, but since I'm the one who is home, the expectation is that the person doing the dog training will be ME.
No one in my family has ever successfully trained a dog and we certainly never enrolled a pet for professional training. I'm sure that's why the dogs I grew up behaved so badly. I've never imagined myself training a dog and this is not something I assumed I would have to do when I agreed to get one.
I didn't have 40 minutes to spare yesterday. I definitely won't have it today: Aside from the fact that we have another storm coming in, I awoke this morning to discover that the dog had chewed up my eyeglasses, which I had left on a table last night.
I don't see well without my glasses. I spent a lot of money on them. As I have to wear them all the time, they are a part of my face.
I didn't budget for new glasses this month. I can't afford to replace them with anything nearly as nice. I'm on my way to Lenscrafters to see what I can get.
