Next week's Level 6 state championship meet marks the end of this year's compulsory season.
That would be cause to celebrate... except for the fact that once the season is over, she moves right onto her new status as a Level 7, and that season begins in January.
So, my joy at having a full weekend without gymnastics was short-lived, as her coach called her in yesterday so she could start working on her brand new, Level 7 beam routine.
Here's video her coach took from the session:
She got right back on the beam. She was laughing.
"I've had way worse falls," she said. Fortunately, I am not always there to see them.
By the end of the session, she had the steps for the new routine down. We'll see how often she falls when she adds in the leaps, cartwheels and flips.
I may need to start taking Xanax now that she's at this level.
