A Funny Thing Happened...

...on the way to my airplane.

A pleasant looking woman approached me and asked if I remembered her. She looked familiar, but I couldn't place her.

It was Lisa, a woman I'd worked with from 1992-1999, when I was an employee of a state trade association. She was now working in the organization's Sacramento office and had just finished a business trip down at the headquarters in L.A.

What I'd thought would be a boring little flight turned into a lot of fun. We spent the time catching up with each other and dishing about the people I used to know. She looks good and seems happy. And she said the same thing about me.

"You're lucky you got to stay at home and be with your daughter," she told me.

Don't I know it.
