The Anniversary Post
Fourteen years ago today, Gareth and I exchanged wedding vows.
Fourteen years is a long time. I forget that, until I look at photos taken that day and marvel at how young and attractive we both looked! (To give you an idea of just how long it's been, the little flower girl staring up at me in the picture above is my niece, Carly, who is now a sophomore at UCLA).
We may have more wrinkles, more pounds and grayer hair, but the important things have not changed.
Gareth is my best friend. He tells some of the dumbest jokes in the world, but he does it so earnestly, he still makes me laugh. Lately, our Circadian rhythms are out of sync. He is up at the crack of dawn and goes to bed roughly the same time as our daughter. I don't seem to get sleepy until midnight or so. We need to work on this, come together in the middle somehow.
He thinks I don't know that he kisses me goodbye every morning before he leaves for work. I may still be asleep, but I wake up long enough for my kiss. It is the best part of the day.

Happy Anniversary! Our 19th was yesterday. I didn't blog about it cuz we've almost split up a few times, and things are good again now so I don't wanna jinx 'em. :)
