Lisa Stone welcomed us and introduced
Today is the day we finally get ot meet face to face and have a lot of fun. The fundamental mission that inspired us to invite you to join us was to focus to move the conversation from women and blogging to a whole new level, into an acknowledgement that we represent between 43 and 56% of all bloggers. You see that women are blogging loudly and enthusiastically and proudly about every subject under the sun.
How to enjoy additional exposure and education? Technology is moving so quickly. How do we serve the needs of the women worldwide who have emailed us about this conference? At the end of this session, we are going to build the Mother of All To-Do Lists.
Want to thank two groups who made this possible:
The first is you: You showed up. You contributed the $99 fee.
I also think it is important that we acknowledge the POWER of women and blogging. Which I think is what led to the support of the sponsors who came here today.
Urged us to visit the sponsors, who enabled the group to keep the reg fees down.
And thank you for filling out our survey.
The responses to why you are here:
(Flash presentation - wonder if we can link to it)
Thanked the 20% who are men, for listening to us that they are welcome
15% don't have a blog at all; they came to learn.
More than half from outside the Bay area. Important that it's not insular. Some from as far as London and Portugal and other places around the world.
52% have never attended another conference on blogging. Something motivated them to attend this one.
(A lot of this is a repeat of what they told us in yesterday's speaker/live blogger session.)
