The Superbowl Party Contest is closed. Congratulations to Jessica, the winner! Pepsi assured me they were sending her their prize package on Monday. Stay tuned for more drawings.
If you've read me for a while, you know I'm not a huge sports fan... but like everyone else in this country, I watch the Superbowl. The game is one of the few events that all Americans share together (even if some of us just like to watch for the advertisements). It's practically a national holiday.
So when a nice rep from Pepsi asked me if I would be interested in giving away The Ultimate Pepsi Superbowl Party pack (estimated value: $250), I jumped on it. Come February 1, I'll be watching the game ads. I may even invite some football fan friends to enjoy the game drink with me. And I bet a lot of you will be doing the same.
Here's what we're giving away:
- 1 football
- 1 beverage pail
- 1 snack helmet (my favorite!)
- 2 key chains
- 2 hats
- 2 t-shirts
- 5 Pepsi 24 pack coupons
- 5 Frito Lay coupons
Entering is going to be simple: All you have to do is comment on one of the reviews here at SoCal Stuff. Every relevant comment you make between now and next Monday (January 19) Friday (January 23) will be entered into a random drawing for the prize. The winner will be announced on January 20 - a day that SHOULD be made an official holiday every four years, in honor of the Inauguration on Monday, January 26.
The Pepsi Company appears to be jumping on the spirit of change. The email I got from them pointed me to an intriguing new website, titled Refresh Everything, which is promoting Pepsi as an agent of optimism. Hey, at this time in history, I'll take all the optimism I can get.
Right now, the site has a cute little flash intro cheering us into 2009... as well as a promotion where users are being urged to tell our new President what THEY would like to see accomplished in his term. I'm not sure what will happen to the uploaded videos later; I am assuming that some effort So far, the videos I've sampled on the site look like they were professionally made (the quality is too good)... so I'll be curious to see what real people do with the opportunity... and if Pepsi gets them to President-Elect Obama.
I am also interested to see what they do with this campaign. It reminds me of the old Pepsi Generation ads of the early 60's, (yes, I am old enough to remember that), inspired by the youth and vitality of JFK. Time will tell...
